Okra is another of my favorites. Like most okra lovers, I enjoy it fried, but I also like it in soups or boiled all by itself. Okra grows well here in Georgia because it thrives in hot weather, but it will grow just about anywhere. My primary crop is with the standard Clemson spineless, but I have also had some luck with some of the red varieties and, more recently, with the Star of David variety. Okra is related to Hibiscus, so it’s no surprise that it produces a beautiful bloom.
